Individual Therapy
Individual therapy sessions last 50-55 minutes. I combine evidence-based treatment interventions with a strengths-based approach to address our goals in counseling. Exploration of thoughts, feelings, and relevant past experiences are important in addressing your current concerns, and I aim to provide a compassionate and safe space for this in therapy. Behavioral strategies will be provided as needed to help improve your day-to-day functioning as well. I will frequently check in with you to determine how therapy is going and discuss your progress as we work together.
Couple Therapy
Couple therapy sessions last 50-60 minutes. The first two sessions will be evaluation sessions to better understand the couple’s history and areas of concern. I use an emotion-focused approach to aid in identification of underlying patterns or cycles that are disruptive to the couple and provide strategies and facilitate in-session dialogues to interrupt these patterns and establish greater emotional safety and improved communication in the couple relationship.
Perinatal Counseling
Perinatal means “surrounding” pregnancy and includes the time of pregnancy and up to 1 year after childbirth. This is a time when anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns may appear in a parent due to a combination of factors. I have experience and training to treat mothers, fathers and couples who struggle with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I also have experience providing therapy for those walking through infertility and/or pregnancy loss. Treatment is focused not only on treating symptoms but developing and engaging support networks for the parent and family.
Spiritually-integrated Counseling Solutions
Sometimes individuals and couples want to integrate their religious faith into what is talked about and explored in therapy. I recognize how important this can be and if requested, I initiate dialogues in session about how to best do this to meet a client’s needs and goals.
